The first week of dental school was such a whirlwind of fun, busy, stressful (in a good way), crazy newness. I met so many new people, connected with so many upperclassmen, and learned a ton. I feel like I socialized more this past week than the entire summer.
As I reflect on the last week, I just feel so grateful and relieved that I am still in Minnesota. I think God knew what he was doing when he kept me in this state, made these people my classmates, and got me out of that relationship. In just a week, I've met some of the most amazing people, and I cannot wait to see where we will be in four years!
It's also true that the U is known for easing you into school, and this is definitely true, almost to a fault. I find myself wishing I had more to do, more to study, and was in the trenches. But I know that will come very quickly, so I am trying to make the most of my free time while I have it. I've been working out consistently. Honey and I went to In the Loop coffee and studied there for awhile Saturday- she's getting better at the shyness. We also checked out the Lake of the Isles dog park and that was super fun! We'll be back for sure. I baked some cookies today- a new recipe and it showed, but they are so delish.
Tomorrow is week 2 and the first week of oral anatomy, notoriously a very hard course. I am really excited for it though? Like, I welcome this challenge and cannot wait to try my hand at waxing. I mean, isn't this what it's all for? Didn't I beg to learn about teeth, and have a craving that my undergrad degree couldn't touch? So I'm trying to lean into that excitement here- how blessed am I to be here, studying oral anatomy.
I'm exhausted though, so it's a short and sweet post and I'll update you next week!!
xx
